Tristen Marcic, Florida
BioACCOMPLISHMENTS: Tristen is now 12 years old and has begun 7th grade this year. Tristen continues to work with the Ronald McDonald House and the Amazing Steel Drum Ensemble as her two main charity organizations. She is a Gifted High Honors Student and was recently inducted into the National Junior Honor Society. She was selected by her peers as Secretary of her schools NJHS chapter for 2018/19 and was super excited to be the only 7th grader selected for office. She has received many awards for her academic success but her favorite awards are the Presidents award for Academic Success and the Presidential Community Service Award for her many volunteer hours. In the last year she has completed over 250 hours of community service while maintaining a very busy schedule with church, family, school and activities. Tristen loves to run local charity races and is now part of the Cross Country and Track teams in her school. She took an 11th place finish in the County Cross Country Championship in 2018 and helped to bring her team to a 1st place finish. She also plays Competitive Soccer and is beginning her 5th year. She recently tried out for an Elite Competitive team and was accepted into the player pool which will give her additional training for her future success. She also just tried out for her first year of Middle School Volleyball and made the team! Tristen works hard to balance church, family, school and sports and show all little girls and young women that you can work hard to achieve anything you set your mind to. FUTURE GOALS: Her current future plans include attending Florida Gulf Coast University where she hopes to play college soccer. If asked what she wants to be, she will say "I don't really know", so for now she focuses on maintaining good grades and knows that one day she will figure it out. Tristen believes right now that she should just enjoy being a preteen and doing what she can to serve in her community and being a role model to others around her.
Advice for Young GirlsNever, ever give up! Set a goal and always work for it! You never know what the judges are looking for that day that you compete and while you may not be the one that day, someone will want you. I competed 2 times before I earned my first MAC title in the Princess group, but I never gave up and just kept working towards my goal.
Favorite Thing About MACI love the friends that I have made through MAC. I have learned many skills through competing since I was young that are now being put to good use while I am in Middle School.
