Acting performances have a time limit of 45 seconds. At 45 seconds, a timer will sound and the microphone will be faded out. At that time you must stop performing. No points will be deducted from your score if this occurs. The 45 second limit is enforced so each contestant performs for the same amount of time and so we can stay on schedule.
Contestants will select and perform a commercial script.
You may make up your own script, use a script you have seen on TV or heard on the radio, or use one of the sample scripts that will be sent to you in National Newsletter #2 around October 15th.
Your commercial script must promote a product. Memorize your commercial script and try to create interesting timing, pacing and voice inflections. Small handheld props and costumes are allowed or you may wear a nice casual outfit. Your clothes and your script should be conservative and age appropriate. Age appropriate makeup may be worn in all age divisions. No music is allowed in the Acting Competition. A $200 Sponsor Fee is required for each Acting entry. Sponsors may be listed under each contestant’s photo in the digital National Program Book for her age group.
Acting fees count toward advertising awards, but no advertising space is given nor do they take the place of the required $1200 Queens’ sponsor fee.Sponsor Fees, entry fees and all other pageant fees are non-refundable.
